Accounts & Audit 2025/26

The Parish Council met on Wednesday 18th December 2024 and during this meeting the council finalised the budget for 2025/6. The budget determines in part The parish Councils Precept.

The precept represents the parish council's portion of council tax. The precept request is submitted to the billing authority, Cornwall Council, which collects this amount on behalf of the parish council. It is then distributed across council tax bands and added to residents’ council tax bills. The calculation of the precept is defined by statute (Local Government Finance Act 1992, Section 50)

The Parish Council is pleased to announce that the budget that was set will reduce the parish council's precept which is the parish element of council tax by 17.8% This meaning that a band D property will see the annual parish tax reduce from £23.33 to £19.19 a reduction of £4.14 This is considerably cheaper than many other parish and town councils.

Effective financial management and income from sources like the Pentewan car park have helped us. While other elements of the council tax will be increasing, we are committed to keeping your bills as low as possible during these tough times.
